Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities as they give to their university libraries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

     If people are asked question that says “Do you think universities should give same amount of money for sport activities as to the libraries”, they would have different answers. Some people would say sport activities are important for students because it makes us to be healthy. However, for the following three points, I think universities should not give same amount of money for sports activities as to their libraries.

     First of all, universities’ main purpose is to educate students not teaching them sports. As I said, it is also important because it provides us a good health. Yet, it doesn’t guarantee our success. By giving lots of money to libraries, students can have opportunities to read and study more. Many students are sometimes complaining about the facilities of libraries because there are not enough seats for students and even not sufficient books. This is a serious problem that universities should solve immediately.

     As to the second point, recently, many famous and outstanding books are published so quickly. Many professors and teachers recommend students to read many books. Nevertheless, the fact is that there are not sufficient books in the library for students who want to read those books. To be honest, if universities give same amount of money for sports activities, they wouldn’t have enough money to purchase those books all. Hence, it is not beneficial to give same amount of money for sports activities.

     There are significant numbers of problems that are happening associated with libraries. First, there are not many seats for students and not enough books for students to study and read, as mentioned. Also, students who have exams coming up should study in library because they can find information quickly and easily. As you all know, students need more time studying on their own because it is not enough to just study in class. To do that, libraries should have lots of seats and enough books for students to read. Therefore, it is more profitable to spend more money on having more useful facilities in libraries than spending on sports activities.

     To sum up, I think that sports should be considered as one of the subjects that students do because there are countless advantages of sports activities. In spite of the advantages of sports activities, I think universities should be more careful about the libraries because of the previous three points: education is the main purpose for universities, universities should accept many books in the library for students, and many problems are happening because of the lack of facilities for libraries.
