I’m quite sure that there are many people who will say that the government should spend more money on exploring outer space which includes traveling to space and to other planets. However, I have a different view. By examining that we should spend more money on public places, we should invest more money on the biotechnology and support people who are suffering and dying from poverty, and we should take more actions to preserve the environment on Earth, it is clear that the government should spend more money for our basic needs on earth.

     To start with, these days, people want to have a better atmosphere and environment around them. Public places are something that many people use together. At this point, we can say that public places should be often checked out to see whether they are giving the benefits to people effectively. Public places include parks, public washrooms, libraries, and so on. To provide more profits to people, it should work properly as it was expected to when they were first made. To do this, more money should be spent on it.

     In addition, I personally think saving people’ lives is more important thing than getting information and knowing more about outer space. Many people are dying because of diseases. To prevent this, more money should be supported and spent to investigate the causes of diseases and to find out what medicines can treat the detrimental diseases such as AIDS. Furthermore, many people are dying because they have nothing to eat. Especially, many African people have difficulties surviving because they don’t have something to eat to fill their stomach. It will be more beneficial for world to support money for those who are dying from poverty than traveling to outer space.

     Most importantly, there are many harmful phenomena that are now being happened such as global warming, smog, land pollution, water pollution due to a polluted environment. I think we’d better put our money into preserving environment clean and fresh. We are living in the Earth and Earth is like our parents who take care of us and raise us. In this regard, it is not acceptable that we harm the environment of the Earth and make Earth dirty. This can mean that we harm our parents. Of course there should be more policies that can help preserve the environment. Also, It is obvious that there should be more money spent to preserve the environment more effectively.

     All in all, I admit that exploring outer space to know more about the outside world is also important. Despite that, I think we should use our money more effectively for the public places, biotechnology and for the people who are suffering from poverty, and preservations of the environment which are all supporting our basic needs on Earth.

 There are of course many people that I want to recommend my city to build a statue or monument to revere a famous person in my country. However, there is one most important hero in my country that I personally would love to build a monument or statue for. By examining that he created korean, he made a big laboratory which is called jip-hyun-jun, and he always worked for his people during his reign, it is clear that King Sejong is the most significant man that I would want my city to build a statue for.

     To begin with, Sejong King created korean which is still considered one of the most prestigious languages that are existing in the world. He wanted to teach his people to learn our own language so that our country can be a independent nation and also to be free from china. If he didn’t make korean during his reign, we might be using English as a first language. It doesn’t really matter even if we are using English now but we wouldn’t be proud of our country that much then. At this point, I want people in korea to be proud of korea and be grateful to King Sejong who devoted his life to making new language.

     In addition, King Sejong constructed jip-hyun-jun which was a laboratory at that time that nurtures people who have potentials to have a big impact and influence on our country. People from jip-hyun-jun traditionally made a lot of contributions to our country and helped a lot to make our country a stronger nation. With great plans in his life, korea could become more advanced and developed country compared to prior days.

     Most importantly, he always regarded his people as his life indicator and did his best to provide a better life to his people. I’m sure that there has been no one throughout the whole history of korea who produced these many contributions and poured his passion in making his people’ life better, not his. Furthermore, I think that if our city makes a monument of him, it can remind people of how preciously and importantly with his genuine mind he thought of our country. This can also allow people to be more proud of our country and be more eager to do something for our country.

     All things considered, there is a myriad of people that I would want my city to construct a statue for. Despite that, by examining that he invented korean, he built a great lab called jip-hyun-jun and raised many remarkable people, and he devoted and contributed his life to helping his people to have a better life, I can clearly express my opinion that I want my city to build a monument for Kind Sejong.

     There are respective roles women and men play in many different countries. There are also differences and similarities that women and men play in society. I think that there are more differences than similarities in terms of roles that women and men play in society. Before I start my essay, I want to make sure that there should be no such discrimination between women and men in terms of roles.

     To start with, some people might think that women usually stay at home and take care of kids at home. Well, frankly, it’s quite true. However, this kind of perspective is gradually being changed and many people in my country think that women should also work for their family and be an important part in their family. Recently, it is often said that there will be more women who will be working than men do.

     Men, as many people know for sure, have been working and earning money for their family. In modern times, since women are getting some jobs that men should have got like the past, it is getting harder for men to get jobs. Still, many men have their jobs and earn enough money to support their family. As the time goes on, men are trying to help women taking care of kids because women also have work to do these days. However, it is still correct that men are at least in a higher position than women which should be changed soon.

     I would like to say that the differences in terms of roles women and men play in society are that women usually stay at home and take care of kids, while men go out and work for their family. Yet, it is clear that this concept is being changed but still this is over 60% true until recently. Despite that, the similarities are that women and men both try to do something for their family regardless of their roles. We are not 100% sure about the roles that women and men play in society. This can mean that men and women should work together and cooperate with each other for their valuable lives.  

  Some people say that people are defeated by losing and others insist that they are defeated because of a failure to try. In my opinion, people are defeated by failing to try. By examining that we gain no power to restart what we have wanted to do by failing to try, trying and the efforts that support it can at least make some results, and trying can be a great experience for the future, it is clear that one is defeated by failing to try rather than defeated by losing.

     To start with, failure of try can’t offer us a great encouragement that can lead us to have more energies to re-initiate something what we have wanted to do. However, in case we didn’t even try, we have nothing left but discouragement and disappointment about ourselves. This can cause such a serious problem but we can stop this and that is trying.

     In addition, trying can at least leave something that can be very important for us. To illustrate, it can tell us what we should have done and should do now to achieve goals. Furthermore, we can also learn about how severe the competition is in this world by trying. We learn a lot of things during the process of trying. Hence, a failure of try is the main defeat that people face.

     Admittedly, it makes sense to say that people are defeated by losing because it means anyways that we have lost. Yet, what I mean is that there are more defeated related to failing to try than losing. Trying is a great experience for our futures because it means that we have more chances to face the hardships earlier than other people and this can lead us to faster advancement and development. 

     All things considered, by considering the factors that we can’t get enough power to restart things again if we don’t try, trying can leave very special words to our mind and the important results that are even trivial to us, and we can’t have a great experience that we can learn from trying, we can assert that one if defeated not by losing, but by failing to try.

     Do you think an elementary school education is the beginning of learning  everything people need to know in life? Well, some people might agree. However, by examining that students in elementary school usually learn the fundamental materials, they often like playing more than studying or learning, and they are not intelligent and developed enough to understand the importance of learning, it is clear that everything people need to in life doesn’t actually initiate from elementary school education.

     To start with, students in elementary school only get the rudimentary materials that are not quite related to information needed to know in life. Well, we, as an adolescent or adult, must know the materials that elementary students learn. Yet, we can’t say that this elementary education provides enough information to be said that everything people need to know in life stems from an elementary school. It means that it is just not sufficient to say that it is the onset of all education.

     As to the second point, elementary students really love playing which means that they are not ready and eager to study and learn. In the elementary school education period, students are in the process of preparing to learn something that people need to know in life. It doesn’t mean that they are fools but it just means that they are not quite ready to learn and this proves that everything a person need to know in life isn’t originated from an elementary school education.

     The last point will be that they are not intelligent enough. What does this mean? It can not only mean that elementary students are not ready but also they are not capable of understanding the materials that people need to know in life. Although they learn something from teachers in school, it is not about the one that people need to know in life. Even though they learn something about the things that people should know in life, they won’t be able to obtain the true meanings of it.

     All in all, by looking at the factors that elementary school education only offers the basic materials, they prefer playing more than studying and learning, and they are not quite intelligent and knowledgable enough to understand the materials that people should know in life, we can say that everything a person needs to know in life doesn’t originate from an elementary school education.

 Constructing an oil refinery in my neighborhood may have a lot of advantages even though I wouldn’t approve of this decision. However, by examining that it will remove many public places, it will disturb people with noisiness and it can pollute the environment, it is clear that I wouldn’t agree with this decision.

     To start with, if we make a plan of building an oil refinery, it will require wide areas of land to construct. At this point, many public places such as park, parking lots, or playground will be disappeared. These public places have a lot of advantages for us. For instance, children can play in playground and elderly people can rest and walk around the park. We need to know our community will be disrupted by an oil refinery.

     As to the second point, people may also have problems with noisy sound. Supposing that you are living near the factory and you are trying to sleep at night. As you know, factories are almost always operating. Since, you are near the factory, you will have hard time sleeping at night. Well, there is nothing more important than living with comfort in your life. Although it will be quite beneficial for our community itself, I think it is more important for people to live without any interruption in their life.

     The last point I want to say is that it can contaminate our environment. Our environment should be protected by our hands. If we pollute the environment, the bad consequences will after all be paid back to us. Besides, water pollution and air pollution that are the two major kinds of contamination will be very detrimental for our health. Many people are worried about their health and they eat healthy foods. However, keeping the environment clean is the most significant thing that we must do to protect our health.

     In sum, there may be some benefits that we can get from building an oil refinery. Despite that, by looking at the reasons that were covered, it will remove the public places and our community, it will have noise problems, it might pollute the environment badly, I strongly insist that I would disagree with the announcement that government will construct an oil refinery in my neighborhood.

  These days, air pollution in found in many parts of the world and this is due to an increasing number of private cars in use. What we can do to encourage people to use their cars less and public transport more? Well, there are several things that we can do: we can make a lot of advertisements that can inform the risks of using private cars, we can give more benefits to people for using transportation and we also can moderate the prices of transportation.

     To begin with, advertisements are very powerful that many people remember even after several years later. It has strong impression on people’ thoughts that could change people’ mind. If we use these advertisements wisely, I’m sure that people will try harder to take transportation rather than private cars. We all know that it is impossible to encourage all people in the world to use transportation but it is plain that the number of people who take the private cars will gradually decline as the time goes on.

     Besides the advertisements, we can also grant a lot of benefits to those who use transportation. For instance, we can make a discount of 20% for those who use transportation when they want to buy something. Furthermore, we can make cards that allow people to change bus to train, for example, for free. This is being implemented in my country and this encouraged people to take transportation a lot.

     Finally, we have one more important thing that we can do to encourage people to use transportation and that is: lowering the prices of taking transportation. Supposing that if you drive your own car everyday and it costs you about 40$ per month. If you use transportation and it costs only 20$ per month, what would you pick for your everyday ride? Well, if you are smart, you will probably pick transportation. Unfortunately, paying only 20$ per month for using transportation is quite a hard thing to do in a standpoint of transportation companies. However, if the cost is changed to 20$, for example, many people will use transportation rather than their own cars and this can lead to lower levels of congestion and air pollution.

     All in all, there are a lot of encouragements we can give to people to use transportation for their everyday ride, as mentioned. The first one is to make advertisements and the next one is to confer more profits to those who use transportation. The last one is to moderate prices of transportation so that people have no pressures on taking transportation. I’m totally sure that these previous three ways can encourage people to use transportation more than their private cars.

     Work is one of the essential things that we must do through our lifetime. We can say that we work because of the money. However, there are more other reasons why we work. We work in order to know how to get through the harsh life with other people, get honor from other people, and feel achievement through their work.

     To begin with, when we work, we usually meet other people and co-operate with each other. At this point, we sometimes become a supporter of someone. This can help people to get through the strict life. We also can know how to work together effectively and can adapt to the modern world more easily by doing work together. This is the first reason why people work.

     As to the second reason, many people who are in a high position in terms of status want to get honor and respect from other people. It is an instinct of what people do. To exemplify, supposing that your friend is in high position in a company. He or she might want to lead people in a company and want them to follow him. Moreover, he or she might want to be recognized as a good boss. Via work, people can have this hope and feel confident about themselves once they are acknowledged. 

     The very last reason why people work can be explained that people work because they want to feel achievement about what they have desired. As for me, student, the primary job is to study. When I’m finished studying, it feels like I have nothing to worry about and I feel proud of myself. Like this, for many people, work can be their primary job to do. Hence, after they accomplished something that they have desired, they would also feel great. As a result, we can say that people work to feel achievement about themselves.

     All in all, many people say that they work because they need money to live. Despite that, people work because they can know how to work together fluently, they want to get respect and honor from other people, and they want to feel achievement about their work. At this point, we can easily know that people work for various reasons. 

     Good future, which is success, is something that not everyone can get. Then, what is our best thing to do to be successful? Well, I think the best way for a good future is to plan very carefully when we are young because we can easily find what kind of jobs most fit to me when we are young, we can have lots of options to choose, and we can have plenty of time to plan for our future. Now, let’s get into my points more specifically.

     To start with, if we plan carefully when we are young, we are able to find jobs that are most appropriate to ourselves. As you all know, finding suitable jobs is quite important for a good future. If we don’t find jobs that can satisfy ourselves, it is not a good future. Therefore, since we can more easily find fine jobs when we are young, it is clear that planning carefully when we are young is the best way for a good future.

     As to the second point, besides being able to find jobs easily that fit to me, we can also have more options to choose. It can be really difficult to prepare for our future if there are a few options to choose. What I mean is that we can find jobs that fit to me over time and this enables us to have more options to select. Knowing about the options that I can choose from is an integral part of preparing for a good future because this can help us to find suitable jobs more easily. We can see that the first point and the second point are related to each other.

     Now, the last point is that if we plan when we are young, we can have lots of time to think about our future and how to plan our future to get a success. Supposing that 20-years old man tries to find good jobs and he doesn’t have sufficient time to think for his jobs. Since he is busy enough to study and earn money to pay for his tuition in university, he might not be able to get a success. Hence, having lots of time to think about our future can be the fastest way to get a good future.

     All things considered, some people might insist that planning carefully when we are young isn’t the best way for a good future. Nevertheless, by examining that we can find fit jobs more easily if we plan carefully when we are young, we can have lots of choices to choose, and we can have enough time to plan for our future, I would strongly assert that the best way for a good future is to plan carefully when we are young.  

 In modern days, it’s being true that food has become easier to prepare. At this point, do you think this has improved the way people live? Well, some might claim that it hasn’t improved the way people live that much. However, by examining that we can save lots of time, we can do other activities like sports, and we can taste various kinds of food easily, it is evident that this change has improved the way people live.

     To begin with, since we can prepare food more easily and conveniently, we can have lots of time remaining. It means that we can save lots of time. In such a busy world like today, time is considered very important as the time goes on. Saved time can give us chances to do other activities like soccer, basketball, hockey or something. Preparing food easily is not the only thing that can allow us to do other activities but it is still one of them. Therefore, we can say that having been easier to prepare food has improved the way people live.

     As to the second point, we can try healthier foods due to the shorten time for preparing foods. Well, since we don’t have to waste that much time on just preparing foods, we can try other healthier foods. This will not only enhances our  health but makes us to be more active in our life. As a matter of fact, eating just any kind of food is not that big thing. Yet, eating healthy foods is what should be considered great.

     Going to the last point, since we can prepare foods easier, we can also try diverse kinds of foods. As you all know, there are thousands of foods that we wouldn’t have tried before. Hence, we can spend more time on cooking other kinds of foods that we haven’t tried before. It is certainly a great chance to see how many kinds of foods are existing in the world as well. Thus, it is true that having been easier to prepare foods has improved the way people live.

     All in all, some people might insist that this change hasn’t really improved the way people live, as mentioned. Despite that, for the previous three reasons: we can save lots of time and do other activities, we can try healthier foods, and we can try lots of different kinds of food, I would assert that this change has improved the way people live significantly.
